Dave TimmsLand Development Engineer

Dave Timms started his Surveying career in Hawke’s Bay, where he completed the Survey Technician qualification, NZCLS. Shortly after, Dave decided he needed to further his qualifications and moved his family to Dunedin so he could begin the Bachelor of Surveying Degree. Dave graduated from Otago University in December 1983, and returned to Hawke’s Bay where he worked for a few years until a changing work environment caused him to move to Auckland where he started his own Land Development Consultancy.

Dave’s reputation for integrity and innovation, and his determination to find the best solution for his clients, means he has developed good relationships with many of his clients, and also with the Council officers he deals with regularly. He is passionate about good land development and doing the best possible job to achieve his client’s objectives.

Dave has a special interest and expertise in land development engineering, and provides consultancy advice to Surveying The Bay when required.

Dave’s other passions are, firstly; supporting the development of the Surveying profession, where he has been involved during the past few years with professional development courses and the Consulting Surveyors of NZ and, secondly; personal fitness where he has become a very determined athlete over the past several years and enjoys pounding the streets either on foot or bike. Dave has competed in several half marathons and cycling events, achieving some personal goals. He has recently competed in his first marathon, and would like to tackle a triathlon. He is currently working on his swimming technique so that he can work towards achieving this goal.
